Hi I'm Sasha

About me

After 20 years of operating a health and wellness company we started a family and as a new mother found connection was best with my toddlers when we were creating anything. This passion poured quickly into organized play dates and eventually curious by nature.

Art and Nature

At a young age I had a passion for creating things using my hands. As a teenager I found a love of flowers and floral design in my first part-time job. I saw science in the colors and patterns of petals and all the things which nature makes from spores to roots to textures and pollen my hands were in the art of mother nature daily. In college I quickly learned I was the only student who packed a sewing machine for her dorm room it was my favorite distraction from writing papers. I was most often found making and selling the sports teams and sororities personalized matching items to wear. I also owed the university a large sum of money for replacing the bathtub upon my departure after a tie-dying and batik project went a bit messy with wax and permanent colors. The birth of my children actually helped rebirth some of the lost time for creativity which life seemed to blockade in my 30s this passion has overflowed my cup. The goal now is help others fill their families cups for creative creation!

Our Mission Statement

Curious by Nature is founded on the belief that creative experiences positively benefit emotional and intellectual development of children.  We focus on creating connection with all around us rather than the final outcome of individuals work. Classes are both fun and engaging while promoting creative thinking and problem solving skills.

Our Location

Curious by nature is located on our 225 year old farm residence Springlane Farm in My Lady’s Manor. 20+ acres with trails, streams and woodland features help to create an ideal setting around the private and tranquil studio set up. You can hear the trickling stream from the creative space and mid day the natural light pours through the windows. As often as possible we incorporate natural items from the property into the class setting.  Appropriate out door gear will always be mentioned via email prior to classes start date.

What families are saying…

To say my son is having fun and learning at the same time is an understatement. Not only does he enjoy having extra time with his peers, but he loves the fact that in “this particular space” he is free to create, explore, and problem solve through hands on activities! He can be messy, ask questions, or just observe while being in a safe environment where he can take creative and imaginative risks.  Sasha taps into the children’s artistic and designing capabilities each “session”. Hands down one of our best experiences at a camp! Sasha is extremely patient and has very meaningful activities planned.  She genuinely wants the kids to have a learning experience while having fun and using their imaginations to create any and everything!
